National Award winning actor Dhanush has commenced shooting for this third Hindi film ‘Atrangi Re’ in Varanasi. Helmed by Aanand L Rai, the film also has Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan in key roles.
The film is penned by Himanshu Sharma of ‘Article 15’ fame. Oscar-Grammy winner A R Rahman is composing the songs and background score of the film, which is tipped to be a romantic entertainer.
Dhanush’s upcoming films include ‘Karnan’ directed by Mari Selvaraj and ‘Jagame Thanthiram’ helmed by Karthik Subbaraj. Shooting of ‘Jagame Thanthiram’ has been completed and post production works are going on in full swing.
As far as ‘Karnan’ is concerned, the shooting of the film began in January, and almost 90 percent of it has been completed. In a recent interview, Mari Selvaraj said that Dhanush’s character’s name in the film is Karnan and hence the title.
“While the Karnan from Mahabharata was the one who gave away all his worldly belongings, Dhanush’s Karnan has nothing to offer in the film as he comes from a conservative background. Karnan will also be seen fighting for his rights in the movie,” he said.
The director also said that ‘Karnan’ should have been his first film, but he did ‘Pariyerum Perumal’ first to prove his direction prowess and impress producers and other actors.
