In talks for sometime now, the Hindi remake of Karthi-starrer ‘Kaithi’ is now taking shape. Popular Bollywood star Ajay Devgn would play the lead role in the Hindi version.
Confirming the development, Ajay tweeted: “Yes, I’m doing the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Kaithi. Releases on February 12, 2021 @RelianceEnt @DreamWarriorpic @ADFFilms @Shibasishsarkar #SRPrakashbabu @prabhu_sr @Meena_Iyer.”
Ajay, husband of Kajol, had earlier acted in the remakes of Tamil super hits ‘Singam’ and ‘Papanasam’. It is said that Lokesh Kanagaraj, the original director of ‘Kaithi’, will not be helming the Bollywood remake due to his commitments in Kollywood.
Currently busy directing Vijay-starrer ‘Master’, Lokesh Kanagaraj is expected to be director of superstar Rajinikanth’s next film, to be produced by Kamal Haasan. An official announcement on this is expected to be made soon.
