Tuesday (August 25) was the wedding anniversary of Vijay and his fans celebrated the day by holding welfare events, including conducting marriage to couples from poor economic background.
But the act of an over ambitious fan from Madurai has sparked a politicial row. Identified as ‘Ghilli’ Siva, the fan came up with a poster depicting Vijay and his wife Sangeetha as former Chief Ministers and AIADMK leaders M G Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa, respectively.
With Vijay said to be nurturing political ambitions, the poster is being viewed as an attempt to portray him and his wife as political forces. However, a senior office-bearer of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam said the poster was the fan’s own action and it has got nothing to do with the organisation.
Meanwhile, in a recent interaction with a news website, actor Sanjeev, who is a good friend of Vijay, revealed that a few months ago, Vijay himself drove down to his house when he came to know that his friend was staying alone and brought him food during the lockdown.
Sanjeev said he had Covid-19 like symptoms and so had sent his wife and children to his in-laws place and was staying alone. Vijay spoke to him on phone and then surprised him in fifteen minutes by reaching his house and handing him food through the watchman, as Sanjeev didn’t want to come near Vijay.
