Karthi celebrated Pongal at the native of his wife near Coimbatore. Along with his wife and daughter, the ‘Kaithi’ actor took part in Kalingarayan festival and paid tributes to a great man who strived hard for water supply in Kongu region.
On the work front, the actor is busy with ‘Sultan’ and Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. Sources say that ‘Sultan’ helmed by Bakkiaraj Kannan of ‘Remo’ fame will hit screens during the summer vacation.
“Shooting for the movie has been successfully wrapped up and post production work has been on in full swing. It will be a complete summer treat to the audience,” sources said. The movie will mark the Kollywood debut of Tollywood and Sandalwood actress Rashmika Mandanna.
Karthi’s last release was ‘Thambi’, in which he had shared the screen space with his sister-in-law Jyothika. He recently shot for a lengthy schedule in Thailand for ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. A recently released poster of the movie bears the wordings, “Beginning of the Golden Era.” It has an image of a majestic sword indicating the mighty Chola Dynasty. The film is based on a novel by Kalki.
