Vijay Deverakonda replaces Ram Charan to play Lord Krishna?

Vijay Deverakonda is reportedly set to take on the role of Lord Krishna in the Telugu remake of the Gujarati hit ‘Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate’.

The casting marks a significant change from earlier speculation surrounding the project. Ram Charan had previously been linked to the role, but a report now claims that Vijay has been finalised to portray Krishna in the Telugu adaptation.

According to a source quoted by Bollywood Hungama, the Telugu remake is indeed being developed, but Ram Charan will not be part of the film. Instead, Vijay has reportedly secured the much-discussed role.

The original ‘Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate’ became an unexpected success in 2025. The story follows an auto-rickshaw driver who finds himself trapped inside an isolated mansion, where Lord Krishna appears under mysterious circumstances and comes to his aid.

Karan Joshi played the central role of the auto-rickshaw driver in the Gujarati film, while Shruhad Goswami portrayed Krishna.

The Telugu adaptation is expected to retain the core premise while bringing the story to a new audience. The remake rights have reportedly been acquired by producer Dil Raju, with Optimystix’s Vipul D Shah said to have been involved in the deal.

For Vijay Deverakonda, the role would represent a notable departure from the intense and contemporary characters that have featured prominently in several of his recent films. An official announcement regarding the cast and other details of the Telugu remake is awaited.
