Prasanth Varma dismisses producer’s lawsuit claims as ‘retaliatory’ amidst ‘HanuMan’ profits feud

Director Prasanth Varma has issued a strong statement regarding the public dispute with K Niranjan Reddy of PrimeShow Entertainment, the producers of his blockbuster ‘HanuMan’.
The controversy stems from Reddy’s allegations that Varma accepted over Rs 20 crore in advances for four upcoming films in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU)—Adhira, Mahakali, Jai Hanuman, and Brahma Rakshas—but failed to honor his commitments.

Varma countered the claims in his reply to the Telugu Film Chamber, asserting, “The allegations made against me are false, baseless, and retaliatory in nature.”

He suggested the payments mentioned were related to his unpaid profit share from HanuMan, which reportedly grossed Rs 295 crore worldwide, of which he only received about Rs 7 crore.
The matter is officially ‘sub-judice’ (under judicial consideration) before the Telugu Film Chamber and Telugu Film Directors’ Association, and both parties have been asked to await the industry forum’s final decision.
