A plagiarism case has been filed against the makers of the recently released Telugu film ‘HIT 3’, starring Nani in the lead role.
Writer Sonia Vimal has alleged that the story of ‘HIT 3’ is an unauthorised adaptation of her unpublished work titled ‘Agent 11 and Agent 5’.
Sonia Vimal has demanded 20% of the film’s revenue as compensation and has also sought to restrain further distribution or assignment of rights related to ‘HIT 3′.
She claims to have registered her script with the South Indian Writers’ Association on August 4 and later shared a synopsis with actor-producer Nani in August 2022, hoping for a collaboration.
She states that she received no response, and upon watching ‘HIT 3’, was shocked to find similarities with her story, albeit with some minor changes.
The Madras High Court has issued a notice to the film’s production team and has adjourned the case for a hearing on July 7.
