Actress Nivetha Pethuraj has revealed that she seriously considered stepping away from the film industry in 2023 before eventually finding renewed motivation through her involvement in ‘Sing Geetham’, the latest Telugu project from veteran filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao.
Speaking at a thanksgiving event hosted by the film’s team, Nivetha reflected on a challenging phase in her life and career. She shared that she had made up her mind to leave cinema but now feels that the journey ultimately led her to become part of a special project. Looking back, she described the experience as a reminder that unexpected turns in life can sometimes lead to rewarding opportunities.
The actress also expressed her gratitude to producer Nag Ashwin, crediting him for helping her rediscover her passion for filmmaking. She said she had been considering a completely different path away from the industry but eventually returned to acting, a decision she now views as a positive turning point in her career.
Nivetha further spoke about the emotional impact the film had on her. After watching it recently, she said the story resonated deeply because of its connection to real-world issues. She expressed hope that audiences would take away an important environmental message from the film, suggesting that planting a tree for every newborn child could contribute meaningfully to a greener future.
The actress also shared her long-standing admiration for musical productions, recalling how she frequently attended stage musicals while in London. She noted that she had often wished to see more large-scale musical storytelling in India and was thrilled to be part of a film that embraces that format.
