With Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s ‘Maa Inti Bangaram’ set to hit theatres on June 19, anticipation surrounding the film continues to grow following the release of its trailer.
The promotional material introduced Samantha in the role of a seemingly ordinary homemaker whose life is linked to a mysterious and powerful past. The unique premise has sparked curiosity among moviegoers and generated discussions across social media platforms.
Addressing comparisons between ‘Maa Inti Bangaram’ and other female-led action films, director B.V. Nandini Reddy clarified that the film should not be viewed as a spy thriller. She explained that the narrative focuses on a protagonist whose hidden past gradually comes to light, drawing attention to the character’s transformation and personal journey rather than espionage-driven storytelling. She said that the film has shades of Superstar Rajinikanth’s industry hit ‘Baasha’ in it.
The filmmaker noted that the story is built around a layered central character, combining emotional depth with strength and vulnerability. According to her, the film balances action and drama while exploring the protagonist’s inner conflicts.
Nandini Reddy also had high praise for Samantha’s performance, stating that the actor has evolved significantly over the years. She said Samantha brings confidence and versatility to the role, handling emotional scenes, humour and action sequences with equal ease. The director expressed confidence that audiences would find the film both engaging and entertaining.
