Nani and filmmaker Srikanth Odela are gearing up for the release of ‘The Paradise’, with the film set to hit theatres on September 24.
At a pre-release event in Chennai, the actor and director spoke about the film’s emotional core, its mass elements and the inspiration behind the story. Swaroop Reddy of Think Cinemas, which is handling the Tamil Nadu release, also attended the event.
According to Srikanth, the story is rooted in the relationship between a mother and her son. Nani plays a rebellious character whose battle to protect his mother and his land forms a major part of the narrative.
The filmmaker said the story was influenced by real-life incidents and experiences from his childhood in Telangana. Events he witnessed around his hometown eventually became the foundation for the film.
Nani said ‘The Paradise’ represents the kind of mass entertainer he has wanted to experience as an audience member. He stressed that the film attempts to combine strong emotions with theatrical moments rather than relying only on conventional commercial ingredients.
The actor also described the project as the most physically and emotionally demanding film of his career, crediting the entire team for their efforts.
Nani further spoke about the influence of Tamil cinema on his relationship with films, naming Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, Bharathiraja and K Bhagyaraj among the filmmakers and actors who shaped his understanding and appreciation of cinema.
With the release approaching, the team is positioning ‘The Paradise’ as an emotionally driven mass drama centred on family, land and a community’s struggle for survival.
