Mahesh Babu was spotted at the Hyderabad airport early on February 24, 2026, heading to Georgia for the next major phase of ‘Varanasi’.
Directed by the visionary SS Rajamouli, the film is currently entering one of its most critical international schedules.
The Georgia leg will focus on “massive action blocks” involving Mahesh Babu and the film’s antagonist, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran. Rajamouli and cinematographer PS Vinod had previously scouted these locations to ensure the rugged terrain complements the film’s intense spiritual-action theme.
This 12-day schedule is expected to capture some of the most expensive stunt sequences ever filmed in Indian cinema.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who plays the lead female role of Mandakini, is expected to join the team shortly.
Reports suggest that roughly 50% of the film’s production is now complete, with the makers aiming for a grand theatrical release on April 7, 2027.
