Veteran actor Rajesh stands out even after his death

In a decision that speaks volumes about personal philosophy and a unique approach to life’s ultimate certainty, veteran Tamil actor Rajesh, who recently passed away at the age of 75, was laid to rest in a grave he meticulously designed and built for himself decades ago.

This remarkable act, undertaken when he was merely 40 years old, has resurfaced, shedding light on the thoughtful and perhaps even whimsical nature of the beloved actor.

Initially built with marble, it underwent a granite renovation 15 years ago after the original structure showed signs of wear. A life-size statue of the actor also adorns the site, which additionally serves as the burial ground for his parents and wife.

Rajesh often quoted a Chinese proverb that states, “He who builds a tomb for himself will live 100 years.” While he clarified that longevity wasn’t his primary motivation, the proverb certainly resonated with his decision.

Rajesh wanted his final resting place to reflect his own wishes, down to the verses inscribed on the tomb. He reportedly felt it would be an unfair burden on his children to design and execute his tomb after his death, preferring to ensure his vision was realized while he was alive.
