#The man who contributed while living and even after death to the human community# Spl. Article by Vasan Suri

Mr. Cyrus Mistry, lost his life in a terrible accident that too sitting inside a Mercedes Benz on Sunday.

His life stories and life styles have been discussed by many in the media and social media.

Many news about not wearing seat belts and how to stay safe in a car is being circulated in many social media.

The death of Mr. Cyrus P. Mistry have created a debate on car safety and that is where he had served the community even in his death.

The Union Minister, have declared seat belts for all in the cars as mandatory.

The various questions and solutions, which Mr. Cyrus P. Mistry’s death have evoked:

1. There have been many such road accidents and deaths before and no such issues about wearing seat belts at the back seat, spoken about so strongly.

A death of prominent person makes a difference and from Mercedes to TATA cars everyone is talking and explaining about the safety features & measures fitted in the car.

2. Why car sellers don’t talk about these safety features in their marketing films or videos.

3. Could the driver would have dosed off, after the meal as the accident happened around 3pm.

4. It is important that the driver is educated in these safety norms and risk of his dosing or overeating while driving.

5. We need to include the road safety in our education curriculum as once the children get educated of the risks, they will pull up their parents.

6. Compulsion and penalties do not make a big difference for people these days, as they feel that, they will get away by paying such fines.

Many cross over on red signals and drive on one-way, thinking that, after all they need to pay their fines, if caught.

7. When the driver is driving, allow him to have his liking of music or any news by using his ear phones so that, his mind is agile.

Many a times, continuously talking in other language which the driver does not understand makes him tired and dose off.

Pay the drivers well, groom them not only by dress and looks but also in character.

How to drive, check all the safety measures before moving the car, eat half stomach, keep mind agile by music or news, make him understand his importance for his family and the importance of persons he is driving.

8. We are now talking about the gravity of such accidents where the weight of the passenger can become multifolds and that causes danger and risk.

It will be good that all these are educated at every level.

Strangely, alarms and warnings in most of the cars are for only front seat belts and not back seats.

Many have written after this accident, about not to make alterations in the original fittings of the car. If so, should not be the licences of those auto clinics and decorators be checked.

9. Accepting that, We have taken the steps for car safety, what about Omni buses which speed up between 80-120kms per hour and there are no seat belts.

10. What about the 3 wheeler autos plying at 30-50kms per hour speed.

11. Do we have any solution for safety of passengers on e-rickshaws.

Every human life is valuable and as someone said, death is the least painful consequence over an accident.

Imagine people going to coma, loss of hand or leg or spinal cord. How do they survive the rest of the lives and the cost of it and the trauma of their families.

Mr. Cyrus P. Mistry eternally, have really opened up all these questions and solutions need to be there for everyone.

Time to introspect and retrospect at every area and come to the right solution.

Mandatory and compulsion or fines will not make the difference except regular awareness programs and videos posted by popular sports person or film artists. Apparently, we all listen to them more than the Government.

Self discipline is the best discipline. Avoid such dangers and risks.

Any such accidents or incidents can be seen as a challenge and also an avenue for creating innovative products which could really help the safety of the passenger.

Instead of crying over for lack of job opportunities, if we dig around there are lot many opportunities, can open up.

Mr. Cyrus P. Mistry, living to open up our minds even after his mortal remains have gone aflame.
