Ponnambalam reveals he wanted to commit suicide over 20 times

Popular villain actor and ‘Bigg Boss’ participant Ponnambalam was hospitalised recently and was helped by many leading stars including superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.

The actor, who has now returned home after recovery and is getting rest as per doctors’ advice, has revealed in a recent interview that thoughts of committing suicide crossed his mind more than 20 times in the past few days.

The ‘Muthu’ and ‘Nattamai’ actor thanked people for their affection for him, and said that many enquired about his health through phone calls when he was in hospital.

Stating that he acted in a lot of films and earned well, Ponnambalam however said he saved very little from the earnings. He expressed his worry about not having saved any money for his children and has requested stars who know his hard work to help him.

Ponnambalam was recently admitted to a hospital in Adyar, Chennai, for a kidney-related problem. It is said his condition is stable now.

Ponnambalam’s big break arrived in the form of K S Ravikumar-directed ‘Nattamai’, in which the former played a key role. The film had Sarathkumar as protagonist. Last year, Ponnambalam was seen in Jayam Ravi-starrer ‘Comaali’.
