The Madras High Court has refused to restrain the release of the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer ‘Parasakthi’ , which was challenged over a plagiarism claim.
An associate director, KV Rajendran, alleged that the film’s story was copied from his registered work, but Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy declined to grant an interim stay.
This allows the period drama—which centers on the influential 1960s anti-Hindi agitations in Tamil Nadu—to proceed with its scheduled release on January 10, 2026.
Sivakarthikeyan plays a character named Chezhiyan, a leader shaped by powerful ideologies, while Ravi Mohan (Jayam Ravi) portrays his ideological rival, Thirunaadan.
The film also marks the Tamil debut of Sreeleela and features a heavy-hitting cast including Atharvaa and Rana Daggubati.
Directed by Sudha Kongara, the project boasts high technical standards with cinematography by Ravi K. Chandran and a soundtrack by G.V. Prakash Kumar.
