With just a few days away from the release of ‘Leo’, all eyes are now on Lokesh Kanagaraj.
Cinephiles have high hopes for the filmmaker and are expecting him to deliver a huge blockbuster with the Vijay-starrer. The movie marks his fifth directorial project after ‘Maanagaram’, ‘Kaithi’, ‘Master’ and ‘Vikram’.
He will be teaming up with Rajinikanth for an untitled project that is expected to go on floors after February 2024.
Tentatively titled ‘Thalaivar 171’, it will be bankrolled by Sun Pictures. The film might hit the screens in 2025 if everything goes well.
The director has now revealed that the movie will not be a part of LCU, the universe that he created with his last outing ‘Vikram’.
He also added that it will be a new experience for him in terms of story narration and execution. The movie’s cast will be a surprise for cinephiles, he added.
He was supposed to helm Karthi in the much-awaited ‘Kaithi 2’ after completing ‘Leo’.
However, the opportunity to direct ‘Thalaivar 171’ was unexpected and he decided to work on it first before moving on to ‘Kaithi 2’.
