Karthi and Lokesh Kanagaraj teamed up for the first time and delivered the super hit action thriller, ‘Kaithi’.
Released in 2019, the film earned immense critical acclaim and commercial success.
Both Karthi and Lokesh Kanagaraj had talked about the ‘Kaithi’ sequel on several occasions but never revealed much about it.
Leaving all the ‘Kaithi’ fans pleasantly surprised, Karthi took to Instagram and shared a picture with Lokesh Kanagaraj. “Dilli Returns. Let it be another fantastic year,” the actor told Lokesh.
It’s well known that ‘Kaithi 2’ will be part of the Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe (LCU).
Lokesh’s previous directorials, such as Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vikram’ and Vijay’s ‘Leo’, had references to ‘Kaithi’.
The ‘Kaithi’ sequel will be bankrolled by SR Prabhu under his Dream Warrior Pictures in association with the leading Sandalwood banner KVN Productions.
