In a shocking turn of events, actor and music composer GV Prakash Kumar fell victim to a heartless online scam on X.
The composer, known for his philanthropic nature, was moved by an emotional plea from a user claiming they needed urgent funds to perform the last rites for their deceased mother.
Responding immediately, GV Prakash transferred Rs 20,000 to the user via GPay.
Fans quickly intervened, using reverse-image searches to prove that the “deceased mother” photo was actually an old image of a woman who passed away in 2022.
Despite the warnings, the scammer had already pocketed the money and deactivated the account shortly after.
