Bala, Suriya part ways from ‘Vanangaan’

Director Bala has released an official statement in which he has written that Suriya will be no more part of ‘Vanangaan’.
In an official statement from Bala, the director said that he wished to make a film titled ‘Vanangaan’ with Suriya, but since certain changes were made to the script, he was apprehensive about the fact that whether the story would suit Suriya.
In the statement, which is penned in Tamil, Bala wrote, “Suriya completely believes in me and the story of Vanangaan. I didn’t want to let down my younger brother who believes in me and respects me so much. So, after mutual discussion, we have both decided to let Suriya off the film. Though he is completely upset about the same, the decision has been taken for his own good. We will come together again, just like we did for Nandha and Pithamagan. However, the film will continue without Suriya.”
Earlier, there were speculations that the film has been dropped after creative differences cropped up between Suriya and Bala. The first schedule was wrapped up in Kanyakumari in September, and there were no updates from the team thereafter.
The second schedule was supposed to begin in Goa, but it got indefinitely delayed.
