‘Rajakili’

– Review

Samuthirakani runs an asylum for mentally challenged persons. One day he brings Thambi Ramaiah from the streets to his asylum. Samuthirakani soon finds out that Thambi Ramaiah was once a wealthy businessman.

Since Thambi Ramaiah was not happy in his marriage life with Deepa, he got remarried. He is also attracted to another woman and wants to get married to her.

Soon, Thambi Ramaiah gets involved in a murder for the third woman. He becomes wanted by the police and is on the run. What happens next, how someone who was a successful business comes to the street forms the core plot of the movie.

Directed by Umapathy Ramaiah, the first of the movie is filled with humour and is impressive.
How the life of a businessman is affected because of those who doubt him is showcased in an effective manner. The emotional climax and the way in which it is picturised is impressive.

Thambi Ramaiah who appears as the mentally challenged person in the beginning grabs the attention of the audience. He shines in the role of a successful businessman and his body language for the role is impressive.

Samuthirani who appears for a brief period creates the much needed impact for the plot to proceed further.

Deepa, as Thambi Ramaiah’s wife, has delivered a subtle performance. Rest of the cast including Suveta Shrimpton, Miyasree Sowmya, Subha, Pazha Karupaiya and Ilavarasu have all done their part well.

Camerawork by S Gopinath is impressive. Thambi Ramaiah who makes his debut as a music composer has done well.Rest of the technical aspects of the movie are also impressive.
