“Paramasivan Fathima”
– Review
The story centers on two adjacent villages in a rural setting. One of the villages is primarily a Hindu settlement, and the other village has Christian community as the majority.
A series of mysterious murders begins to plague these villages, with all the victims being bridegrooms on their wedding nights.
This unusual pattern sparks a police investigation, which forms the central mystery of the film.
Directed by Esakki Karvannan, the movie is an ambitious film that tackles sensitive themes of religious conversion and communal conflicts within a horror-thriller framework.
While it may not consistently hit all its marks, it is a commendable effort with a clear intention.
The film offers a refreshingly different cinematic experience. It’s a film with heart and a story that shines in its earnest attempts to address complex societal issues through the lens of a compelling mystery.
Sashvitha delivers a particularly strong and memorable performance, especially in emotionally charged scenes.
Vemal and Chaya Devi, though their roles are somewhat limited in the initial half, leave a distinct mark as the narrative progresses.
Cinematography by Myna Sukumar effectively captures the rural essence, often lending an eerie beauty to the landscapes. Rest of the technical aspects of the movie are good as well.
