Veteran producer R.B. Choudhary passes away in road accident

Legendary film producer and Super Good Films founder, R.B. Choudhary passed away in a tragic car accident on Tuesday afternoon near Jodhpur. He was 72.
According to preliminary reports, the veteran producer was travelling in his native state of Rajasthan when his vehicle was involved in a severe collision.
While two other occupants of the car are currently being treated for injuries at a local hospital, medical professionals confirmed that Choudary succumbed to his injuries en route to the facility.
R.B. Choudary was widely regarded as one of the most successful and disciplined producers in South Indian cinema.
Since establishing Super Good Films in the late 1980s, he became a household name for producing “clean,” family-oriented blockbusters that resonated across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada industries.
He was famously credited with providing major career breakthroughs for numerous superstars and directors, maintaining a “Midas touch” for identifying scripts with mass emotional appeal.
The tragedy comes at a time when the production house was reaching historic milestones. Choudhary produced many blockbuster movies of TVK founder and Chief Minister-designate Vijay. The films included ‘Poove Unakaga’, ‘Love Today’ and ‘Thullatha Manamum Thullum’.
Super Good Films recently celebrated the success of its 98th production, Maareesan (2025), and was in the final stages of its 99th project, Magudam, which also marks actor Vishal’s directorial debut.
The industry was eagerly awaiting the announcement of the banner’s landmark 100th film, a project Choudhary was reportedly overseeing with great passion.
