A loan shark MS Baskar keeps visiting their home regularly and abuses them for failing to pay their dues on time. In an effort to solve the financial crisis, Charlie and Susan George travel to a nearby village for work. 

Back at home, Charlie’s son, by mistake, loses the only gold ring that their family possesses.

Fearing their stepmother, he and his sister take the help of George Maryan, who lives in their neighbourhood, to save some money and buy a gram of gold. What happens next forms the crux of the story. 

Directed by G Suresh, the movie is completely based on the emotions that the children go through when they try to overcome a difficult situation. 

The story is simple and the screenplay is made in a feel good manner. One of the major positives of the movie is that it does not get melodramatic. 

The performance of the two kids Baby Monica and Shakthi Rithvik are lovely, and they are the reason why Erumbu is such a likeable film. 

The kids are supported well by Charlie and MS Bhaskar. However, it is George Maryan who steals the show. Rest of the cast including Susan George have done their part well. T

he music by Arun Raj is another big plus to the movie. Camerawork by Kalidas is impressive and captures the emotions in the film in an effective manner.
