Clap – Review by Naveen

An effective sports drama

Clap

– Review

‘Clap’ follows the story of Aadhi whose dream of achieving big in athletics is shattered because of an accident. However, he gets a second chance to realise his dream, but this time through a young prodigy.

Was Aadhi successful in achieving his dream this time. What was the hurdle that he faced this time forms the rest of the story.

Although the story follows the usual sports drama, it is quite interesting. The screenplay is taut and does not waste any time in getting into the story. Directed by Prithvi Adithya, the first half is quite well written with certain sequences which will make the audience empathise for Aadhi.

It is the second half that looks cliched. The sequences involving the athletes could be handled in a better way.

The dialogues are quite well penned. Aadhi delivers a memorable performance which stays with the audience. He makes the audience feel his pain.

Krisha Kurup is brilliant and oozes innocence. Aakansksha Singh looks pretty and conveys a lot of emotions through her eyes.

Prakash Raj shines in his cameo. Nasser and Brahmaji are excellent. BGM by Ilayaraja gels well with the movie. Cinematography could have been better.
