A heartfelt journey of gratitude

“Seetha Payanam”

Movie Review

Seetha (Aishwarya Arjun), is a talented chef who shares an incredibly tight bond with her father, Rajendra Prasad (Sathyaraj).
Having lost her mother at a young age, Seetha is hesitant to marry, fearing she will leave her father alone. The turning point occurs during a drive from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad.
Seetha picks up a hitchhiker named Abhi (Niranjan Sudhindra), and a series of minor delays—caused by various strangers and incidents—result in her reaching her destination late.
This delay ultimately saves her life, as she narrowly avoids a fatal gas explosion at her venue.
Overwhelmed by the realization that “timing is everything,” Seetha embarks on a return journey to find and thank every person who inadvertently delayed her.
Arjun Sarja returns to the director’s chair with a clear mission: to create a “clean,” value-driven film.
His execution is sincere and highlights his strengths in capturing family sentiment.
Carrying the weight of the film, Aishwarya delivers a dignified and restrained performance.
She shines in the emotional scenes with Sathyaraj, though the script limits her range in the more dramatic stretches.
Making his debut, Niranjan Sudhindra, the nephew of Kannada star Upendra brings a youthful energy to the film.
While his chemistry with Aishwarya is still developing, he handles the “mysterious stranger” persona well.
Sathyaraj & Prakash Raj are the film’s backbone. Sathyaraj is moving as the doting father, and Prakash Raj adds his signature gravitas to a supporting role, even if the character feels somewhat familiar.
The film features high-voltage cameos by Arjun Sarja and Dhruva Sarja, primarily designed to satisfy action fans.
Cinematographer G. Balamurugan captures the road trip with striking visuals. The transition from coastal Vizag to the bustling streets of Hyderabad is handled with a fresh, scenic aesthetic.
Anup Rubens provides a melodic soundtrack. While the songs have a nostalgic, late-90s feel, the background score effectively heightens the emotional beats of the “near-miss” accident. Rest of the technical aspects of the movie are good as well.
