Vijay Sethupathi wants to shed his criminal past and start a new life and relocates to Malaysia.There he befriends Yogi Babu, a rag picker who masquerades as a businessman to impress Divya Pillai, a hotel owner.
Things take a turn after Vijay Sethupathi meets Rukmini Vasanth. The both eventually fall in love and at one point Vijay Sethupathi decides to help Rukmini to come out of her financial burdens.
Vijay Sethupathi plans a heist which makes him cross paths with BS Avinash, a loan shark. What happens next, was Vijay Sethupathi able to successfully complete his task forms the core plot of the movie.
Director Arumugakumar as usual has taken up a simple storyline and has presented it in an interesting manner. While the first half of the movie is sluggish, it picks up pace in the second half.
The way in which the director has interlaced a heist thriller underlined with romance is really interesting.
Vijay Sethupathi is in his element in the movie and has played the character to perfection. He plays the role in an effective manner and also looks young and refreshing on screen.
His chemistry with Yogi Babu too has worked out well. Rukmini Vasanth makes a solid debut with this movie in Kollywood. He shows her versatility and talent in the screen space that she gets.
Divya Pillai holds her character in a convincing manner. BS Avinash as the antagonist is menacing. Rest of the cast including Babloo Prithviraj have done their part well.
Songs and BGM by Sam CS is really impressive and gels well with the theme of the movie. DOP Karan B Rawat’s visuals are commendable. Rest of the technical aspects of the movie are good as well.
