Suriya’s latest release ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ is receiving encouraging feedback following its theatrical release in Telugu and Tamil. The Telugu version has also been performing well, according to the makers.
Directed by Venky Atluri, the film is backed by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Media. A success gathering was held in Hyderabad on Saturday, with filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas attending as the chief guest.
Speaking at the event, Trivikram congratulated the cast and crew and revealed that he is keen to collaborate with Suriya in the future. He said the story of ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ had made a strong impression on him and expressed confidence that an opportunity to direct Suriya would materialise.
Trivikram also shared an interesting anecdote involving his wife Soujanya, who is associated with the film’s production. He said she is a major admirer of Suriya and has encouraged him to make a movie with the actor. According to Trivikram, her enthusiasm even led her to visit the sets despite generally avoiding film-set visits.
The filmmaker went on to praise Suriya’s enduring appeal and screen presence. He said that only a small number of Indian actors seem to retain a remarkably youthful appearance and singled out Suriya and Mahesh Babu in this regard.
Trivikram also remembered Suriya’s acclaimed portrayal of Sanjay Ramaswamy in ‘Ghajini’. He noted that the character connected strongly with audiences beyond Tamil Nadu and became memorable among Telugu viewers as well.
He further recalled conversations surrounding the Hindi adaptation of ‘Ghajini’ and said the impact of Suriya’s original performance was widely recognised within the film industry. Trivikram also connected the memory to an earlier conversation he had with producer Allu Aravind during the making of ‘Jalsa’.
With Suriya and Trivikram both expressing interest in working together, their potential collaboration could become an interesting project for fans of Telugu and Tamil cinema.
