Prabhas and filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-anticipated action film ‘Spirit’ has a new release date, with the makers confirming that the film will arrive in theatres worldwide on October 29, 2027, coinciding with the Diwali festive season.
The revised date places the film in direct competition with ‘Ramayana Part 2’, the second instalment of Nitesh Tiwari’s mythological epic, which is expected to release on November 5, 2027. With Prabhas headlining ‘Spirit’ and Ranbir Kapoor and Yash leading ‘Ramayana Part 2’, the festive period could see a major box-office showdown.
The announcement followed a teaser from Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who had indicated on social media that a new poster featuring Prabhas, along with the updated release date, would be unveiled shortly.
The filmmaker subsequently confirmed October 29, 2027, as the worldwide release date through another post on X. The newly revealed first-look poster presents Prabhas in an all-black outfit, complemented by a black sports cap and stylish sunglasses.
‘Spirit’ was originally slated to release in March 2027. However, the production team has now moved the film to the Diwali window.
The project is backed by Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Krishan Kumar and Prabhakar Reddy Vanga under the banners of T-Series Films and Bhadrakali Pictures. Prabhas stars opposite Triptii Dimri, while Vivek Oberoi, Kanchana and Aishwarya Desai are also part of the cast in significant roles.
Known for his intense storytelling and films such as ‘Animal’, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is collaborating with Prabhas for the first time on ‘Spirit’. The film’s new release schedule has already set the stage for an exciting festive-season contest, with audiences awaiting further updates on both major productions.
