Pooja Hegde joins India Day Parade in New York as Guest of Honour

Pooja Hegde was the Guest of Honour at the India Day Parade held in New York on August 16, where she joined members of the Indian diaspora in celebrating the country’s Independence Day.

The actor described her participation as a proud and memorable experience, expressing her gratitude to the Federation of Indian Associations for selecting her for the honour.

Pooja also shared photographs from the event on social media. In one of the pictures, she is seen smiling while holding the Indian national flag. She also posed alongside an officer from the NYPD’s Counterterrorism Bureau.

The India Day Parade is regarded as one of the largest public celebrations of India’s Independence Day outside the country and draws participation from the Indian-American community.

On the film front, Pooja was recently seen opposite Vijay in ‘Jana Nayagan’, directed by H Vinoth. The film reportedly crossed the Rs 300-crore mark worldwide in theatrical collections and is scheduled to premiere on ZEE5 on August 21.

Her upcoming projects include ‘Kanchana 4’, written and directed by Raghava Lawrence, who also plays the lead. The film features Nora Fatehi, Swaksha Iyer, Devadarshini and Kamalesh Jagan.

Pooja is also part of ‘Sri Sri’, directed by Ravi Nelakuditi, in which she shares the screen with Dulquer Salmaan.
