Karthi’s latest film, ‘Annagaru Vostaru’, has skipped its planned Telugu theatrical release and arrived directly on Amazon Prime Video.
Originally titled ‘Vaa Vaathiyaar’ in Tamil, the film faced several production delays before finally hitting Tamil screens during the 2026 Pongal season.
While a dubbed Telugu release was expected in cinemas, the makers opted for an early digital premiere on January 28, just two weeks after its initial debut.
Directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, the story stars Karthi as a corrupt cop whose grandfather, a staunch devotee of the legendary Sr. NTR, believes him to be the reincarnation of the icon.
Despite an intriguing premise and a strong performance by Karthi, the film has received mixed reviews for its screenplay, though it remains a notable watch for fans of the actor’s high-energy performances.
