Actress Dr Kamakshi Bhaskarla became emotional while speaking about her career journey at the Hyderabad pre-release event of ‘Agadha’.
The MS Raju-directed thriller marks a significant milestone for Kamakshi, who is taking on a central role in a feature film for the first time. She said reaching this stage had taken nine years and acknowledged the support she received from audiences.
Reflecting on her career, Kamakshi said she had faced difficult periods and moments when she considered giving up. She explained that she had no established industry backing and relied on the opportunities that came her way to gradually build her career.
The actor was also asked about veteran producer Shyam Prasad Reddy comparing her with Anushka. Kamakshi said she was delighted by the comparison, particularly because it came from someone with his experience. At the same time, she said the remark made her feel a greater sense of responsibility.
Kamakshi revealed that the visual presentation of ‘Agadha’ was shaped extensively by director MS Raju. She said the filmmaker wanted the film to have a distinct look, including the costumes. She admitted that adapting to the sarees designed for her character was initially challenging.
The action portions also required extensive preparation. According to Kamakshi, the cast and crew participated in workshops and rehearsals before filming began. While minor difficulties were inevitable during production, she said the team’s collective effort helped bring the sequences together.
