Vishal’s first film as a director, ‘Magudam’, could reportedly make its OTT debut on ZEE5 on September 11. However, neither the streaming platform nor the film’s team has officially announced the date yet.
If the reported date turns out to be accurate, ‘Magudam’ will reach the digital platform less than a month after its theatrical release on August 14. Fans will have to wait for an official confirmation before the OTT premiere can be considered final.
The film follows Linga, played by Vishal, a feared gangster who has a softer side and remains separated from his son Kiruba, also portrayed by Vishal. Unlike his father, Kiruba chooses a peaceful family life and stays away from violence.
His life takes a tragic turn after a confrontation with local criminals leads to the deaths of his wife and daughter. The devastating loss pushes Kiruba back into a world of violence as he seeks those responsible.
Linga eventually steps in to safeguard his son and grandson. The estranged father and son then find themselves working together as they embark on a dangerous mission for revenge.
‘Magudam’ features Dushara Vijayan as the female lead, with Anjali appearing in an important role. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the film’s music.
The movie marked Vishal’s directorial debut in addition to featuring him in the lead role. Its theatrical run received a mixed response from critics and audiences, while reports indicated that its box-office performance did not match the expectations surrounding the film. The reported September 11 streaming date remains subject to confirmation from ZEE5 or the makers.
