Vishal has responded to the growing speculation about Dhanush entering politics, saying that he would welcome the actor if he decides to take up public service.
Speaking at the audio launch of ‘Magudam’, Vishal said Dhanush has been the subject of political-entry discussions and wished him well if he genuinely intends to pursue a career in politics. He added that politics is open to anyone who wants to work for the welfare of the people.
Vishal also praised Dhanush’s abilities as an actor, filmmaker and technician. At the same time, he joked that the film industry could lose another talented performer if Dhanush chooses to enter politics.
Dhanush’s political plans have become a topic of discussion following a recent event organised by his fan club. While participating in a blood-donation initiative, the actor reportedly spoke about governance and serving society, fuelling speculation about a possible political future. The unveiling of a flag associated with his fan club had also added to the buzz.
Vishal himself has recently made comments that triggered similar speculation. At a public event, he spoke about wanting to use his goodwill in the film industry to do something meaningful for people. He said his future path would be different and that he intended to follow a direct route without shortcuts. However, he has not formally announced any political plans.
Meanwhile, Vishal is preparing for his first film as a director with Magudam. He is also playing three roles in the movie, which features Dushara Vijayan and Anjali in prominent parts.
Jayaprakash, John Vijay, Ajay, Vamsi Krishna, Abu Salim, Arjai, VJ Jhansi, Padam Kumar and Sabhumon are among the supporting cast.
Pon Parthiban has worked on the dialogue writing, with Anandh Kumaresan handling the Tamil dialogues and Rajesh A Moorthy working on the Telugu version. NB Srikanth is the editor, while G Durairaj is responsible for the art direction. The film is produced under the Super Good Films banner and is scheduled to reach theatres on August 14.
