‘Vikram’ post theatrical digital streaming rights grabbed for a whopping price?

For the past couple of days, there have been rumours that OTT giant Disney+ Hotstar has acquired the post theatrical digital streaming rights of Kamal Haasan’s film – Vikram.

It is now reported that Disney+ Hotstar shelled out as much as Rs 112 crores for the post theatrical digital streaming rights of Vikram (all languages).

Shooting of the film was wrapped recently and the team celebrated this with a cake.  A celebratory video was shared on social media in which the movie’s cast and crew can be seen celebrating with a cake.

Shooting for the movie began in April and was initially expected to be released in 2021 summer. However, the shooting was delayed due to the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

The movie also features Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil in prominent roles. Music for the flick is by Anirudh Ravichander.
