Prime Video has officially announced the second season of the hit investigative thriller ‘Vadhandhi’. In a major casting shift, Sasikumar will lead the new season, replacing S.J. Suryah.
The makers released an intro video today showing Sasikumar in a police uniform as SI Musa Rasa. The story reportedly follows his transfer to a dry suburb of Madurai, where he solves a high-profile political case only to realize he might have sent an innocent man to prison.
Directed by Andrew Louis and produced by Pushkar-Gayathri’s Wallwatcher Films, the series features an ensemble cast including Aparna Das, Vivek Prasanna, and Revathi Sharma. While the video is out, the official streaming date remains under wraps.
Sasikumar’s portrayal of Musa Rasa is expected to be more grounded and stoic compared to the eccentric detective style seen in the first season.
The plot is rumored to deal with the “rumors” (Vadhandhi) surrounding a missing social media influencer, blending elements of cybercrime with traditional grassroots policing in rural Tamil Nadu.
