Suriya completed 25 years in the film industry recently and celebrated his debut film ‘Nerrukku Ner’ 25th anniversary.
Suriya also thanked his fans for their love over the years.
It is said that Suriya’s first month’s salary was only Rs. 736 and today, he is one of the highest-paid actors in the industry.

Saravanan Sivakumar known by his stage name Suriya began his career in a garments factory.
Suriya was offered a role by the director Vasanth in 1995 which he refused but with Mani Ratnam’s insistence made his debut in ‘Nerukku Ner’ at the age of 22 in 1997.
Suriya is married to actress Jyothika whom he dated for many years before getting married in 2006. The couple has two children.
He has never shied away from trying complicated roles, ‘Nandha’, ‘Pithamagan’, ‘Maatraan’ and ’24’ are some of the movies where he went out of the way to play his characters.
Not just as a hero, Suriya has also played cameos in movies of other actors.
His role as the antagonist in ’24’ and ‘Vikram’ will be etched in the memories of cine goers.
Suriya’s recent movie’s ‘Jai Bhim’ and ‘Soorarai Pottru’ delivered a social message. Despite being released on OTT, these movies became a huge hit.
Be it the role of cop in ‘Singam’ franchise or playing the local rowdy in ‘Aaru’, Suriya always gives his best for the characters that he plays.
Suriya did not just stop with acting, but also started producing movies.
In 2015, Suriya released “36 Vayadhinile”, the first film from his 2D Entertainment production company. A comedy drama fronted by his frequent co-star and wife Jyothika.
Suriya has received numerous awards including two National Film Awards, four Filmfare Awards South, three Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, and more. His Movies like Jai Bhim and Soorarai Pottru were selected for Oscars.
