Actor Dhanush has revealed the first look of his upcoming film ‘Thamizh Murugan’, reuniting with director Vetri Maaran for the fifth time.
The newly released poster presents Dhanush in a commanding avatar, seated atop an elephant with a ‘Vel’ in hand while facing a large gathering of warriors. The visual draws inspiration from Lord Murugan, who occupies a special place in Tamil culture and is widely revered in the State.
‘Thamizh Murugan’ brings together the successful actor-director duo once again after their earlier collaborations in ‘Polladhavan’, ‘Aadukalam’, ‘Vada Chennai’ and ‘Asuran’. Although the makers had previously announced ‘Vada Chennai II’, work on that project has not yet commenced. The story has been penned by Arivumathi, while Sai Abhyankkar has been entrusted with composing the film’s music.
The announcement has generated discussion on social media as it comes amid conversations surrounding another upcoming project based on Lord Murugan featuring Junior NTR and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. That film recently became the subject of online debate following remarks made by one of its producers about the deity, prompting reactions from several Tamil social media users. Many fans have viewed the announcement of ‘Thamizh Murugan’ as a celebration of Tamil cultural identity and its long-standing association with Lord Murugan.
