Kajal Aggarwal-Gautam Kitchlu
One of the much talked about celebrity wedding this year is that of Kajal Aggarwal’s with Gautam Kitchlu, a Mumbai based businessman.
On 30 October 2020, the couple got married in a small, private ceremony in her hometown of Mumbai, India, with only the couple’s immediate families in attendance.
Kajal her acting debut with the 2004 Hindi film ‘Kyun! Ho Gaya Na…’ and had her first Telugu film release in 2007, ‘Lakshmi Kalyanam’. In the same year, she starred in the box office hit ‘Chandamama’, which earned her recognition. The 2009 historical fiction Telugu film ‘Magadheera’ marked a turning point in her career, earning her critical acclaim. Then she became a top actress in Tollywood and Kollywood.
Rana Daggubati-Miheeka Bajaj
Rana Daggubati, one of the most eligible bachelors of south Indian cinema, had lost that tag on August 8, as he had tied the knot with girlfriend Miheeka Bajaj.
In view of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic scenario, the couple and their families followed all health precautions, with everyone, including the groom and the bride, wearing masks.
Rana’s father and veteran producer Suresh Babu said, “It was all very simple, nothing extravagant. With the whole family here, it felt good to have a cosy and safe function.”
The wedding was a strictly family affair and it happened at Rana’s family property, the Ramanaidu Studios, named after his grandfather and legendary producer Ramanaidu.
Yogi Babu-Manju Bhargavi
Yogi Babu tied the knot with Manju Bhargavi on February 5 in the hill temple of Lord Muruga in Tiruttani.
The ceremony was an intimate affair with only close friends and family in attendance. His wife from Vellore. Yogi Babu and Manju’s wedding is an arranged marriage.
Yogi Babu is one of the most sought-after comedians in Kollywood. His popular movies are ‘Maan Karate’, ‘Yaamirukka Bayamey’, ‘Aandavan Kattalai’, ‘Kolamavu Kokila’ and ‘Pariyerum Perumal’. He was recently seen with superstar Rajinikanth in ‘Darbar’.
The popular star had recently finished his portions in Dhanush’s ‘Karnan’ directed by Maari Selvaraj in Tirunelveli district.
Aarav-Raahei
At a simple yet elegant event following Covid-19 protocols in Chennai in the first week of September, actor and ‘Bigg Boss’ participant Arav entered wedlock with Gautham Vasudev Menon-directed ‘Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha’ actress Raahei.
‘Bigg Boss’ inmates who attended Arav’s wedding included Snehan, Gayatri Raghuram, Harathi, Vaiyapuri, Bindhu Madhavi, Harish Kalyan, Ganesh Venkatram, Sakthi, Kajal Pasupathi and Suja Varunee.
KS Ravikumar, Charan, Vijay, Ranjith Jeyakodi, Pradeep Krishnamurthy, music director Simon King, cinematographer Sakthivel and actor Varun among others attended the wedding and greeted Arav on enternig a new phase of life.
Mahat-Prachi
Mahat Raghavendra married former Miss India Earth and long-term girlfriend, Prachi Mishra in a beach wedding in Mahabalipuram in February this year.
Their wedding plans hit the news a day before the D-day when Mahat took to Instagram to post a heartfelt message for the love of his life.
Sathish-Sindhu
Sathish had tied the knot with Sindhu in Chennai in December 2019. The comedian, who has been active in the Tamil film industry since 2010, reportedly, met his wife through an arranged marriage setup.
She is the sister of director Chachi. The who’s who of Kollywood including Jiiva, Sivakarthikeyan, Vijay Sethupathi and Udhayanidhi Stalin attended the wedding reception.
Bakkiyaraj Kannan-Asha
In a surprise wedding last month, director Bakkiyaraj Kannan, who made Sivakarthikeyan-starrer ‘Remo’ and is currently busy with Karthi-starrer ‘Sulthan’, tied the knot with Asha in Chennai.
In view of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, the wedding was attended by family members and limited numbers of close relatives and friends including Sivakarthikeyan.
Posting a picture of himself with Bakkiyaraj Kannan from the sets of ‘Sulthan’, Karthi wrote, “Wishing Bakkiyaraj and Asha a very happy married life! Let the new journey be filled with togetherness, understanding and lots of love! God bless!”
