Actor Suriya paid a heartfelt tribute to veteran music composer Deva during the audio and trailer launch of his upcoming film ‘Scene’, held in Chennai on October 31.
The event was attended by Suriya, Jyothika, Karthi, Sivakumar, director Jithu Madhavan, composer Sushin Shyam and actors Nazriya Nazim and Naslen.
Speaking at the gathering, Suriya fondly remembered Deva, who composed music for his debut film ‘Nerukku Ner’.
The actor credited the veteran composer with playing an important role in the early stages of his cinema journey. He also recalled the lasting popularity of the song ‘Aval Varuvala’ and expressed gratitude for Deva’s contribution to his career.
Suriya further thanked actor Dhanush for moving the release of his film ‘Om’, a decision that helped ‘Scene’ avoid a box-office clash during the Deepavali season.
The upcoming film marks Jithu Madhavan’s entry into Tamil cinema as a director. He previously earned recognition in Malayalam cinema through the successful films ‘Romancham’ and ‘Aavesham’.
Known for his distinctive storytelling, quirky characters and a blend of comedy and thrills, the filmmaker’s collaboration with Suriya has raised expectations among moviegoers.
‘Scene’ features Nazriya Nazim and Naslen in prominent roles, while Sushin Shyam makes his Tamil cinema debut as a music composer.
The film is produced by Suriya and Jyothika under the banners of Zhagaram Studios and 2D Entertainment. ‘Scene’ is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on November 6.
