Suriya and director Vikram Kumar, who delivered the critically acclaimed ’24’, are likely to join forces once again. In a recent interview with a daily, the filmmaker spilled the beans on his plans to team up again with Suriya.
Vikram Kumar, who made his Kollywood debut with Tamil film ‘Alai’ starring STR aka Simbu and Trisha in lead roles, then went on to become a leading director in Tollywood, with successful films such as ‘Ishq’, ‘Manam’, ‘Hello’ and ‘Gang Leader’.
He also made the Madhavan-starrer eerie thriller ‘Yaavarum Nalam’, it may be recalled. ’24’ that brought together Vikram Kumar and Suriya, is based on the concept of time travel. The movie had Suriya in a triple role, along with Nithya Menen and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the female leads.
Produced by 2D Entertainment, the film has cinematography by S Tirru. The soundtrack and film score were composed by A R Rahman, with lyrics by Vairamuthu and Madhan Karky. The film (along with a dubbed Telugu version with the same title) was released on 6 May 2016.
