‘Sigma’: Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay’s directorial debut gets a new release date

Director Jason Sanjay’s Tamil film ‘Sigma’, starring Sundeep Kishan in the lead, has a new theatrical release date. The film will now be released worldwide on October 2.

Lyca Productions announced the change on Tuesday. The movie was earlier scheduled to arrive in theatres on July 31. Sundeep Kishan had earlier announced that he had completed dubbing for his portions of the film. The shooting had been wrapped up in December last year.

‘Sigma’ marks Jason Sanjay’s debut as a director. He is the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay, which has made the project one of the much-awaited Tamil releases.

Catherine Tresa is expected to appear alongside Sundeep Kishan in a song composed by Thaman. The track has reportedly been filmed on a large, colourful set.

The film revolves around a distinctive protagonist who follows his own path and becomes part of an adventure involving a treasure hunt. The makers have positioned Sigma as a mix of heist elements, action, humour and emotion.

The technical crew includes cinematographer Krishnan Vasant, editor Praveen K.L. and art director Benjamin M. Shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu, the film has been filmed across Chennai, Salem, the Thalakona forests and locations in Thailand.
