Actress Shruti Haasan has sent a wave of excitement through fans by confirming that Akkineni Nagarjuna will indeed be playing his first full-fledged negative role in the upcoming Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Coolie’.
During recent promotions for ‘Coolie’, Shruti Haasan spoke enthusiastically about her co-star, stating, “Nagarjuna sir is fantastic in this role. You guys are not ready for it!”
She elaborated on how special the film is because it marks Nagarjuna’s debut in a purely antagonist character, noting his “tremendous” performance.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, ‘Coolie’ is an action-packed film set to release on August 14.
It revolves around an aging smuggler who reunites his old gang to combat a powerful gold smuggling empire.
While Shruti Haasan clarifies that she plays Sathyaraj’s daughter in the film and not Rajinikanth’s as previously rumored, the revelation about Nagarjuna’s villainous turn has undoubtedly heightened the anticipation for this star-studded cinematic event.
