Dushara Vijayan is almost in a state of confusion as people have already renamed and are fondly addressing her as ‘Mariyamma’. Courtesy to her mind-boggling performance in Pa. Ranjith’s Sarpatta Parambarai: she has become the favourite of every home. Well, this wasn’t an overnight success for the missy from Dindugal. She had to wait for seven years to find this breakthrough. And now she’s basked in glory over the acclaims for her spellbinding performance.
Actress Dushara Vijayan says, “I am inclined to joyful and emotional over the response. I thank Pa. Ranjith sir, for this lifetime opportunity. I had to wait for a long time to get such an offer and am glad that it happened with Sarpatta Parambarai.” She continues to add, “Initially, I couldn’t believe when I got a call from Pa. Ranjith sir’s office and thought someone is pranking me. But to find 17 missed calls from the same number the next day made me irresistibly anxious that I have made a blunder. I instantly rushed to his office and apologized to him for my ignorance. Pa. Ranjith sir was polite, and he asked me to enact a scene. Eventually, I somewhat felt that he was unconvinced, which urged me to keep pushing the bars ahead. Finally, he got convinced during the photoshoot that I would pull it off perfectly.” Sharing her current state of mind after the film’s success, Dushara Vijayan adds, “I am not able to step out of the world of Mariyamma, and it will take some time. I am so glad that my long wait for a breakthrough happened with Sarpatta Parambarai. I thank Arya sir for his abundant support on the sets. I was quite astonished to witness something completely contradictory to what everyone spoke about him. I heard many say that he is a jovial and easy-to-move guy on the sets, but he was ‘Mr. Serious meets Mr. Silence’. Even Ranjith sir had to move forward and ask if he was comfortable as Arya was completely a different man on the sets. Of course, he is a perfectionist, and he completely retained the world of Kabilan. However, he didn’t miss to surprise us often with his inherent hilarious nature.” Dushara Vijayan has now signed to play the female lead role in Vasantha Balan’s next directorial, starring Arjun Das in the lead role. She will be someone in complete contrast to Mariyamma.

ரசிகர்களிடையே இந்தப் படத்திற்கு கிடைத்திருக்கும் மிகப்பெரும் வரவேற்பு மனதிற்கு பெரும் மகிழ்ச்சியளிப்பதாக உள்ளது. இந்த வாய்ப்பை அளித்த இயக்குனர் பா. ரஞ்சித் அவர்களுக்கு, நான் இந்த சமயத்தில் நன்றி தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன், இது போன்ற ஒரு சிறந்த கதாபாத்திரத்திற்காகத்தான் நான் இத்தனை நாட்கள் காத்திருந்தேன். அது சார்பட்டா படத்தில் நடந்துள்ளது. ரஞ்சித் சார் ஆபீஸில் இருந்து எனக்கு போன் வந்தபோது, முதலில் நான் யாரோ என்னை பிராங்க் செய்கிறார்கள் என்று நினைத்து நிராகரித்து விட்டேன். அதன் பின் அந்த என்னிலிருந்து 17 மிஸ்டு கால் வந்தது நான் விசாரிக்கையில் தான் தெரிந்தது மிகப்பெரிய தவறை செய்து விட்டேன் என்று, நான் உடனடியாக ரஞ்சித் சார் ஆபீஸ் சென்று அவரிடம் மன்னிப்பு கேட்டேன். ஆனால் ரஞ்சித் சார் மிகவும் பணிவாக அதை ஏற்றுக் கொண்டு, கதையில் என்னுடைய கதாபாத்திரம் பற்றி விவரித்தார். என்னை ஒரு காட்சியை நடித்து காட்ட சொன்னார். அவருக்கு இந்த பாத்திரத்தை செய்து விடுவேனா என்ற சந்தேகம் இருந்தது. ஆனால் போட்டோஷூட் நடத்திய பிறகு, இந்த கதாப்பாத்திரத்தில் நான் அழாகாக பொருந்தியிருப்பதாக நம்பினார். இந்தப் படம் முடிந்து வெளியான பின்னரும், இன்னும் மாரியம்மா கதாபாத்திரத்தில் இருந்து என்னால் மீள முடியவில்லை. நான் இவ்வளவு வருடங்களாக காத்திருந்த வெற்றி, இந்த சார்பட்டா படத்தில் எனக்கு அமைந்தது. ஆர்யா சாருக்கு மிகவும் நன்றிக் கடன் பட்டுள்ளேன், ஷுட்டிங் ஸ்பாட்டில் அவர் எனக்கு பெரிதும் உறுதுணையாக இருந்தார். நான் அவரை பற்றி வெளியில் கேள்வி பட்டதிற்கு முற்றிலும் மாறாக இருந்தார். அவர் மிகவும் கலகப்பாக இருப்பர் ஷுட்டிங் ஸ்பாட்டில் எல்லோருடனும் சேர்ந்து பேசி அரட்டை அடித்துக் கொண்டிருப்பர் என்று கேள்வி பட்டேன் ஆனால் இந்த படத்தின் ஷூட்டிங் ஸ்பாட்டில் அமைதியாகவும், சீரியஸாகவும் இருந்தார். ஏனெனில் இந்தப் படத்தில் அவரது கதாபாத்திரம் மற்றவரிடம் இருந்து விலகியே இருக்கும். அதற்காக தான் அப்படி இருந்தார் என்பதை பின்னர் தான் தெரிந்து கொண்டேன். இயக்குனர் ரஞ்சித் அவர்கள் கூட அவரை இயல்பாக இருக்கும்படி கேட்டார். ஆனால் அவருடைய கபிலன் கதாபாத்திரத்தை விட்டு சிறிதளவும் வெளியே செல்லாமல் தன்னை பார்த்துக் கொண்டார். அவரின் உழைப்பு பிரமிப்பானது. அனைவரும் மாரியம்மாளை கொண்டாடுவது பெரும் மகிழ்ச்சியை தந்துள்ளது என்றார்.
இந்தப் படத்திற்கு பிறகு இயக்குநர் வசந்த பாலன் இயக்கதில், அர்ஜுன் தாஸ் நடிப்பில் உருவாகவுள்ள படத்தில் முன்னணி பெண் கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடிக்க நடிகை துஷாரா விஜயன் ஒப்பந்தம் ஆகியுள்ளார். அதில் மாரியம்மாளுக்கு முற்றிலும் நேரெதிரான கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடிக்கவுள்ளார்.
