Silambarasan’s 49th film will have him team up with his long-time friend and comedian-turned-actor Santhana
Santhanam’s inclusion has been made official by the actor himself during the promotion of
“One day, Simbu called me and said, ‘I’m doing a film, and you should be a part of it.’ It is always a ‘yes’ if he asks me to be a part of a film. In terms of respect, I hold him so high that I can never say no to him. I will never say ‘no’ to Simbu because I owe him a lot. When he began production for STR 49, I was also busy with the production of my next film. But because Simbu asked, I apologised to the producer of my film and have joined the sets of Simbu’s film,” Santhanam said.
On Silambarasan’s birthday, February 3, the actor announced the promising line-up of films.
Silambarasan and Santhanam have worked in films including, ‘Manmadhan’, ‘Vallavan’, ‘Vaalu’ and ‘Osthe’. Silambarasan also played a cameo in Santhanam’s ‘Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya’.
Tentatively titled STR 49, the film is helmed by director Ramkumar Balakrishnan, who had directed Harish Kalyan’s ‘Parking’.
