Following a successful run as a prolific actor, S. J Suryah is officially making his highly anticipated return to the director’s chair with his dream project titled Killer.
The announcement, made by Suryah himself on Friday, marks his comeback to filmmaking after almost a decade, with his last directorial venture being ‘Isai’ in 2015.
“Hi folks, your Director S.J.Suryah is back with His dream project titled, yeah you know it #KILLER,” Suryah posted on his X (formerly Twitter) timeline, expressing his excitement and gratitude.
He further revealed that the film will be produced by the prestigious Malayalam production house, Sree Gokulam Movies, led by Gokulam Gopalan, in collaboration with Suryah’s own Angel Studios.
‘Killer’ is set to be a pan-Indian film, released in five languages: Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, signaling a major ambition for Suryah’s comeback.
The film officially went on floors on Friday with a traditional pooja ceremony.
Sources close to the production indicate that ‘Killer’ is an action-thriller penned by Suryah during the lockdown, and the story will revolve around a hitman.
It is expected to be a commercial entertainer with a blend of action, comedy, and romance. Actress Preethi Asrani, known for her work in ‘Ayothya’ , has been confirmed as part of the cast. While a major portion of the film will be shot in India, some sequences are reportedly planned for Mexico.
