Release of ‘Draupadi 2’ officially postponed to late January

Fans waiting for the return of the controversial and hard-hitting ‘Draupadi’ franchise will have to wait just a little longer.
Director Mohan G. has confirmed that the release of the sequel, ‘Draupadi 2’ , has been shifted from its original Pongal schedule to January 23, 2026.
The decision was reportedly made to ensure the film gets a solo release window and to coincide with the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The film is an ambitious historical action drama set in the 14th century, focusing on the Mughal invasion of South India and the resistance led by the Hoysala dynasty.
Richard Rishi returns to the lead role alongside Natty (Natraj Subramaniam) and Rakshana Induchoodan.
Remarkably, the director revealed that this period production was completed in a swift 31-day shooting schedule, focusing on authentic historical research to depict the era’s cultural conflict.
