Veteran stars Ramya Krishnan and Rajasekhar are reuniting after nearly two decades for the Telugu remake of the acclaimed Tamil sports drama ‘Lubber Pandhu’.
The remake, directed by Ani IV Sasi, brings together one of Telugu cinema’s most popular 1990s onscreen pairs, reviving nostalgia for audiences familiar with their hits such as Allari Priyudu and Balarama Krishnulu.
The story, rooted in small-town cricket, rivalry, and emotional family equations, offers Rajasekhar a character-driven comeback role, while Ramya Krishnan’s inclusion adds significant depth.
Production has already begun in Hyderabad, and early reports suggest the film will retain the grounded realism of the original while tailoring the emotional beats to suit Telugu sensibilities.
