Amid the war of words between Vijay and his father and filmmaker S A Chandrasekhar, who has registered a political party in the former’s name, the actor held discussion with important office-bearers of his Vijay Makkal Iyakkam.
According to sources, during the meeting that took place at Vijay’s farm house on East Coast Road on the outskirts of Chennai, the actor asked them to not lend any support to his father’s party.
He also told them he has got nothing to do with SAC’s party and requested the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam functionaries to pass on the message to all the fans and members.
SAC had recently expressed hope that his son would come back to him. In an interview, he said that unknowingly, Vijay has been stuck in a poisonous circle and some of those around him are utilising his popularity for their selfish gains.
“They have been using social media to create a feeling that whatever I am doing is against him. Now they have been aiming him and Vijay has to realise that the same arrows may go against Vijay, too,” he said.
Chandrasekhar said that he had registered the political party in the name of his son to realise his dream of seeing Vijay coming to public life and serve people.
