Netflix confirms streaming date for ‘Kingdom’

The wait is almost over for fans of Vijay Deverakonda’s spy thriller, ‘Kingdom.’ Netflix has confirmed that the film will be available for streaming from August 27, coinciding with the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

The film will be released in five languages: Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi (under the title ‘Saamrajya’).

The high-octane action drama, which also stars Satyadev and Bhagyashri Borse, follows Vijay Deverakonda’s character, Suri, a constable-turned-spy, on a perilous mission to Sri Lanka.

Despite a strong theatrical run, which saw the film collect an impressive Rs 82.02 crore worldwide, it fell short of its reported budget.

The Netflix release offers a second chance for the film to find its audience and is expected to be a major event for the platform.
