Nayanthara made a rare appearance at a promotional event on Saturday as the trailer of ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ was launched in Bengaluru.
The actor, who usually stays away from film promotions, said she decided to attend the event because the project was special to her. She also spoke warmly about working with director Geetu Mohandas and leading actor Yash.
Nayanthara said she was initially reluctant to sign the film because of its large ensemble cast. When Geetu first approached her, she was unsure about taking up the role. However, after hearing the director’s narration, her opinion changed and she became convinced about the project.
She praised Mohandas for having a distinctive filmmaking vision and expressed confidence that audiences would be surprised by the film.
Nayanthara also had high praise for Yash, whom she referred to as “Rocky bhai”. She said the actor’s powerful on-screen personality is evident in real life as well, but highlighted his work ethic as one of his biggest strengths.
According to Nayanthara, Yash has devoted several years to ‘Toxic’ and has made considerable personal sacrifices for the project. She also appreciated his involvement with the cast and crew and his support for director Geetu Mohandas.
The actor said she has worked with several leading stars but found Yash’s level of dedication particularly impressive. She also praised him for balancing his professional commitments with his responsibilities as a husband and father.
Nayanthara plays Ganga, a gangster, in ‘Toxic’. The film also features Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ is slated to arrive in theatres on August 26, 2026.
